Beehive Software and RR Donnelley announced today that Beehive Software will provide file transfer services for several RR Donnelley Book divisions. In the initial phase of implementation, Beehive will install systems for Donnelley divisions in Crawfordsville, IN, Willard, OH, and locations in Virginia. RR Donnelley chose Beehive after extensive lab testing of all the solutions available.

Beehive Software will manage centralized application servers and file storage space for RR Donnelley remotely. The physical location of the servers will be at the ISP of RR Donnelley's choice. Customers of the various RR Donnelley divisions will access the software from the Donnelley application portal and will upload files to temporary server space on the Internet. Simultaneously, the Beehive file manager, running at each of the facilities, automatically picks up the jobs as they are sent, decompresses the files, moves them into the work folders and sends the sender a receipt.

The system will be servicing some of the largest book publishers in the world and has been designed to handle in excess of a Terrabyte of file transfers per month.
