Beehive software announces The Beehive Internet Appliance for Printers. All the Internet Services that most printing and prepress sites need, including Beehive file transfer, web, email and more - in one "easy to manage" box.
The same file transfer software that Beehive has successfully run as an ASP solution for over 1000 printing and prepress sites is now available as a standalone LINUX box solution that printer's can house at their facilities.
The Beehive Internet appliance includes:
(1) Complete Beehive/SendFile ftp software: Includes all Beehive file transfer clients, the Beehive file transfer manager, a secure https server, as well as the complete SendFile browser-based file transfer application.
(2) Integrated File Sharing: Supports SAMBA for Windows file sharing, and Netatalk (Appletalk) for Mac file sharing. The Beehive appliance is perfect for sharing files between Mac and Windows users in your production facility.
(3) Powerful Apache Web Server suite: Includes the high performance Apache web server along with a complete sample web site setup. Also includes a complete development environment including: C, Perl, Java, CGIs and PHP scripting. Also includes a SQL database server if you want to integrate a database with your website.
(4) Complete Email Server: The Beehive Internet appliance has a mail server with SMTP, IMAP4, POP3, and APOP email protocol support. Also comes with several email client choices for Mac and Windows.
(5) Simple Web-based Management and Configuration: All management and configuration may be done through a browser interface ...no more frustration with a Linux Telnet interface. Put the Beehive appliance on your LAN, put the configuration URL in your browser, and follow the simple instructions. Adding users, allocating file space and assigning rights are all simple browser tasks.
