Beehive Software has released version 3.0 of the Beehive ftp forms and Beehive ftp manager software for Mac, Windows and Browser platforms. This is the last release that Beehive will ever have to announce! In the future, all releases will occur automatically - the new "Beehive Service Protocol" in Version 3.0 will automatically check the version of the software when the user connects and will allow them to auto-upgrade at the end of the session. And the service protocol does even more - it can automatically update/push new forms and site keys to clients throughout the network. The administrator controls all of this through the central Sendfile.NET "admin" account. Edits to forms and site keys in the Sendfile "admin account" will automatically be propagated throughout the entire network including desktop clients! Another valuable side effect of this service protocol is that splash screens may now be rotated as banner advertisements!
Version 3.0 also offers other valuable new features. The ftp manager now can keep track of incomplete jobs and will notify the administrator by email. Beehive has eliminated the situation where a job can sit incomplete on your server and you don't know about it! We have also added a log/message window to the ftp manager application so you no longer will receive dialog boxes when network errors occur.
The Sendfile.NET browser client has also implemented several changes that make the Getfile function easier to use and the administrative functions have been widely expanded to allow you to edit forms, sites, logos and users. The new interface on Sendfile.NET allows it to behave just like most browser email! applications. Users may send files to multiple recipients, CC:, forward messages, keep email directories and much, much more. The interface is similar to hotmail but users can transfer folders of gigabyte files!
