Beehive, Secure File Transfer with Forms

1 - Customer sites can send files and folders directly to remote production facilities using either the Beehive Macintosh or Windows secure desktop client with the “Simple as 1-2-3” procedure: 1) Drag files onto Beehive icon, 2) fill out the html form that pops open, and 3) click Send. The files are compressed “on-the-fly”. Destination addressing may either be done with email addresses or via predefined, logically-named encrypted keys e.g. “Uptown Printing”.

2 - Customer Sites can send files and folders directly to remote production facilities using the Beehive/Sendfile.net browser client. When the customer launches the special Beehive URL, an industrial strength JAVA applet is loaded into their browser. They attach the files they want to send, fill out the form and click send. The files are auto-compressed “on-the-fly”.

3 - All Beehive clients, Mac, Windows and Browser use the same forms, destination site keys and splash images. Whether you are using the hosted service or you have your own appliance, each client will update against the designated Beehive Appliance at startup and receive the latest forms, and site updates. Add as many forms as you want.

4 - There are 3 types of communication between a client and the Beehive appliance :

File Transfer - When Clients are sending directly to a Beehive appliance at your facility, they are transmitting files using the secure HTTPS protocol. This protocol is suitable for HIPAA, DOD and other secure transfer environments. This secure protocol is not available in hosted mode, which uses encrypted-key FTP.
Service Update Protocol - All Beehive clients (Mac/Win/Browser) automatically update forms, keys and splash images from the server.
Email Receipts - Appliance returns email receipts upon receipt of files.

5 - The Beehive File manager performs all of the automated back-end operations on received files. The File Manager decompresses the received files and moves them along with the form to a “Jobsin” folder of your choosing. The Beehive File Manager may be run directly on the Appliance or it may be run on separate Macintosh or Windows machines in Hosted mode.

6 - When the File Manager downloads the files it can send email receipts to the originator confirming receipt. The Beehive File Manager can also send email notifications to the administrator or production workers.

7 - The Beehive file manager can redirect received Postscript or PDF files directly to output on selected proofing devices from Xerox and other vendors.

8 - Production facilities often have to send PDF proofs, scanned images, fonts and utility files back to Customer sites. The Beehive client allows any user in the system to be a sender using Simple as 1-2-3 drag and drop sending. As always, jobs can be email addressed or sent to predefined logical locations. When email addressing a job to an individual, a notification email is sent to the recipient, with a URL and instructions for file retrieval. The recipient clicks on the URL in the message and his browser is launched with the BEEMAIL Java Applet loaded. The files are downloaded to the user's computer and are streaming decompressed “on the fly”.
